Beer after sport 'is good for the body'
Here's some more good news about beer and your health, found over at England's Telegraph, via the Brookston Beer Bulletin...
Prof Manuel Garzon, of Granada University, a Spanish researcher claims beer can help the dehydrated "retain liquid better than water" and "the bubbles in beer help to quench the thirst and that its carbohydrate content can help to replace lost calories."
Further more...
"Juan Antonio Corbalan, a cardiologist who worked formerly with Real Madrid football players and Spain's national basketball team, said beer had the perfect profile for re-hydration after sport.
He added that he had long recommended barley drinks to professional sportsmen after exercise."
Well, I think we all knew about those carbs and calories, but hey... Drink up!
